SUNDAY GATHERINGS. We come together on Sunday mornings to praise and give thanks to God for His enduring love. We come together to explore what it means to be a follower of Jesus and how to share His love with the world around us. Wherever you are in your journey- whether full of faith or doubt, you are very welcome to be a part of our community.
WORSHIP. What is a service at Stahl Mennonite like? We gather together for worship Sundays at 10:30 am, typically for around an hour. Our service structure and style is casual, and often varies from Sunday to Sunday as we lift up individual members and their gifts. You might experience someone whistling hymns or a member sharing their own song or poetry, but each service holds the essentials which the early Anabaptists valued: reading of Scripture, prayer, preaching, and singing.
What about children? Children are invited and encouraged to share in our church service- they are a part of God’s family too! During some worship services, there is a children’s time, where a portion of the service focuses attention on our children.
While we don’t have organized childcare during worship, you will find church members who enjoy “surrogate parenting” so parents of young children can more actively participate… please just ask. There is also a nursery available with a changing station, built-in speakers, and a view to the sanctuary to observe the service.
What is the dress attire? You will find a variety of dress and fashion here on Sunday mornings- please wear whatever you feel most comfortable in.
Will I be asked to give money? No. If you are visiting, we ask you to pass the offering basket by. Regular members are asked to discern for themselves what monetary donation (called tithing) they give to God to be used by the church in service. SUNDAY SCHOOL. We believe that we are each on a lifelong journey of spiritual growth and come together to study scripture and learn from one another.
Sunday school begins at 9:30am and various classes are offered for any who choose to attend. Babies and toddlers are welcome to be with their parents at our adult Sunday school class, as we do not have a nursery class.
Please see the church Sunday bulletin for details on class descriptions.
