UPCOMING EVENTS AND NEWS.
COVID protocols are constantly changing around us. Because of the availability of vaccines and the protection they offer, the Lay Leaders recommend that if you are vaccinated, you no longer will be asked to wear a mask during our worship services. However, if you feel more comfortable keeping a mask on during some or all of your time here, that is quite acceptable and will be respected. We continue to ask that most visiting be done outdoors when weather allows. These have been very strange days and months for all of us, but your efforts have kept our infection spread very low within this congregation. Thanks so much for your patience and willingness to care for the safety and health of one another. We will continue streaming our worships via Facebook Live and YouTube. Please choose whichever option for meeting for worship that works best for the safety and comfort of you and your family.
Allegheny Mennonite Conference Annual Celebration of Congregations and Conference will be a Hybrid gathering this year from August 6-8, 2021. You can choose either to attend in person at Laurelville or virtually via Zoom. Conference leadership continues to determine changes necessary due to COVID and the safety of others. We will be following the CDC guidelines that are current at the time of Celebration. Registration forms are available beside the church mailboxes. It’s important that you register as early as possible because we are limited to the number of rooms we have reserved. Any questions, please contact the conference office at

We plan to have a tent, as a historic peace church, at the Juneteenth Commemoration at Central Park in Johnstown on Thurs., June 17th from 12-5:00-ish. We are in need of anyone willing to learn and teach how to make origami paper cranes, someone to monitor a tables and persons to help take tables to the park. You can help for an hour or for the whole afternoon, whatever works for you. Also, we can use the help of anyone who has the know-how to make labels with Stahl’s address, phone number and website to put on crayon packets. If you think you might be interested, let Jayne know! We will have another Zoom call to go over details on Wed., May 26, 7:00 p.m.
Internships are available at Laurelville Retreat Center, seeking an energetic, responsible intern to join their team. ATTENTION: We want everyone in the congregation to be able to communicate with our media group by using their new email address. The new address is:
email@example.com . Please add this to your contact list! This will help get any requests to the media group no matter who is scheduled to run sound on any particular day. Also, if you are able to send requests before the service, it would aid in the preparation process.
