Mennonite Central Committee response to Haiti earthquake: Families who have already suffered so much have been hit once again. On Saturday, August 14th, a 7.2 magnitude earthquake hit the country, killing at least 1,300 people and injuring thousands more. Early reports show that many of those who survived lost their homes. Thousands are sleeping outside, with little food and no protection from the elements. Right now, local partners are assessing the situation to provide aid where needed most. With your help MCC can reach the people most affected by this tragic event. Your gifts will help provide emergency support and supplies. You can donate online at mcc.org/haiti-earthquake, by phone at (888) 563-4676, or by mail at MCC, PO Box 500, Akron PA 17501.

Covid 19 protocols are constantly changing. Because of the increase of cases and the Delta variant, the CDC is recommending increased use of masks when inside public spaces, even if vaccinated. Lay Leaders discussed this change and recommend complying with these new guidelines. We know it is not convenient or popular to do so. However, we choose to err on the side of caution guided by medical professionals. Please visit outdoors following worship, weather permitting, where you can remove your mask. Thanks so much for your patience and willingness to care for the safety and health of one another. We will continue streaming our worships via Facebook Live.
Your continued financial support of the church is greatly appreciated. You can send your offerings to the church address (1201 Soap Hollow Rd, Johnstown 15905) or to Sharon Shetler (667 Soap Hollow Road, Hollsopple, PA 15935). Or you can go to our website (stahlmennonite.org) and donate electronically. It is easy and safe!
ATTENTION: We want everyone in the congregation to be able to communicate with our media group by using their new email address. The new address is:
firstname.lastname@example.org . Please add this to your contact list! This will help get any requests to the media group no matter who is scheduled to run sound on any particular day. Also, if you are able to send requests before the service, it would aid in the preparation process.
